Enlarged Tydol Stamp Art

1940 Tydol American Aviation Stamps

In 1940 the Tydol Oil Company ( Tide water associated Oil ) issued a set of stamps known as the ” American Aviation” series. These were accompanied by a book into which the stamps could be applied and were distributed at no cost. All patrons need do was stop into the local stations weekly to complete their collection, and possibly fill the tank of the family car.

I adore these beautiful stamps by artist Edward A Wilson and have had many in my collection for years. Always thinking that one day I would have them professionally photographed and enlarged and use as studio decor. Now I have done just that.They are printed on luxurious fine art paper, trimmed and hand punched exactly to match the originals. Having received so many requests from friends and family members for them , I will be making them available on my Etsy page. Framed in a modern clean “Float Frame” these are a stunning addition to any space.
