Exhibit & Environment Projects

Having worked in the trade show exhibit and environments industry for the past 20+ years, it only seems natural to have a handful of favorite projects. It’s possible you have seen some of these projects in person already. I have detailed just a few of them on this page and will continue to add more content over time .

Mrs. renfro's display table

When you are a salsa company and wish to attract as many patrons to your trade show booth as possible, what do you do ?

You have a four foot salsa jar table created of course! This  was a  challenging project that required a lot of talented people to bring to fruition. My job as finisher was to shape all the parts, fill, bondo, hard coat, sand, sand, sand, prime and finish.

In the gallery below I’ve included a few photos of the process.

Grab some Chips and Salsa, then feel free to scroll through the project.

Your chariot awaits

The “Hunger Games ” Chariot Hero Prop.

This recognizable piece of movie history arrived at our facility after suffering a shipping accident. Due back at the museum for installation in just a few short days, it was a scramble to repair the shattered fiberglass, match and apply the paintwork, then polish it out.

Fun to have had the opportunity to work on a film prop again .

Rubies Costumes

Dating back to the release of the original Harry Potter film, this exhibit was a show stopper for Rubies Costumes. I was in charge of the scenic painting however, I sure didn’t do it alone.

Every member of the shop put their all into this job. the multiple layers of paint and glaze produced a fantastic stone effect .

FAO Schwartz LEGO

What’s more fun than playing with Lego Blocks as a child? Building and painting enormous ones to hang from the ceiling of the FAO Schwartz store in Los Angeles!

Hershey Kiss

Certainly not a big job, I wanted to share this fun little project because…well, who doesn’t like a big Kiss?

Hand shaped from foam and wrapped in foil, these were a sweet little bit of set dressing for the client.

More LEGO

If you have been to Rockefeller center in Manhattan, you have likely taken the time to visit the world famous FAO Schwartz,  (before its untimely demise). This Lego installation required many talented craftsmen to complete. Featuring an inordinate amount of yellow paint with a few touches of black, I recall sanding and spraying throughout the night to complete this macro display.

In fact, it is momentarily featured in the live action smurf movie..Maybe you have seen it?

and yet More LEGO

Toys ‘R’ Us was a fixture for visitors in Times Square before it too closed its doors. Representing a giant Lego Brooklyn Bridge, this monstrous yellow installation greeted visitors in the main lobby for years.

Yep..More bright yellow paint
